Hooray! A New Animation!

This is basically an extension of that bouncing ball with tail that I put up on my Youtube Channel. I had to change the ball out with an animal. I decided to do a bunny rabbit landing on Mickey Mouse's head. This rabbit is supposed to be an "homage" to Oswald The Lucky Rabbit. He actually came out before Mickey. Unfortunately, Mickey became a lot more popular than him and Oswald was kind of left out in the dust... In this quick little animation, I wanted to have this rabbit hop onto this statue and completely tear it up. I, however, ran out of time. I instead just kept to the assignment and had him just hop on it. Anyway, enough words! Time for movie!

I looped it twice so you can get a good look at it. Thanks for watching!

BLARGH!

"I wish..." Those two words... Every single person wishes those two words held some real power. It's too bad they don't... If only they did... Life would be so... So different. Isn't that an understatement? I don't feel like writing much tonight. Even though I don't have many responsibilities, I feel like I have a TON on my shoulders...

It's Monday Again...

Sorry about not posting last week. Got busy right before Halloween weekend. Haha.

Last Thursday was a dance here at school. I dressed up as Billy Mays and, I must say, it went over pretty well. People really liked it! All I really did was gel my hair back and put on a blue button up shirt. I really liked dressing up like that guy... He was awesome...

This past Sunday... The unspeakable happened. I shaved my face hair off. That's right ladies and gentlemen, I do not have my beard any more... I am beardless... As much as I love having my facial hair, I gotta say... I feel a lot more comfortable like this. I may look a little goofier but damn it all I feel better. I'm gonna end this blog with a nice picture of me so you can see my "new" look.

Damn I look Mexican, don't I?!

Thanks for Reading! PEACE!!!

Aww Dude. I Love Nintendo!

What an understatement. Anyway... Today I wanted to write about the games that are coming out this "holiday" season for the Wii. I put holiday season because I plan on talking about games that were released and are going to be released from October to January.

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games

I actually think these Mario and Sonic titles (there's only two) are actually lots of fun. These games are meant to play with friends. That's the main reason I get these kinds of games in the first place. I like to play "party" games with my friends and I think this is a great addition to my other "party" titles.

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles

Ahh... A rails shooter. Not many people like these games. I, however, do. Even though you can't control your movements completely, I still think there is fun to be had in this kind of game. I have the first of this series (meaning this is a sequel) and I enjoy this kind of gameplay.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii

This is the latest title in the Super Mario Bros. franchise. It's another side scrolling adventure that plays just like the original Super Mario Bros. All you need are two buttons: One to jump and one to dash/ throw fireballs! Back to classics, baby! I simply cannot wait for this game to drop. I am almost drooling watching some of these videos online!

Pokémon Rumble

In this game, you actually control your Pokémon and battle other Pokémon in a way completely different than in the handheld games. Despite the graphics, this looks like a pretty fun game. I can't wait to get my hands on this title.

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars

A true 2-D fighter for the Wii! This is all I have for now. The Wii doesn't have Street Fighter 4 or Marvel vs. Capcom, unfortunately. This is a welcome addition to the versus titles though. Seeing as how this is only a Wii exculsive, I am very excited in what Capcom has done with this game. It looks absolutely fantastic and I think Capcom knows exactly what they are doing.

Alright then folks, like always...
Thanks for reading/watching! PEACE!!!

So... Halloween is coming up...

I still don't have my costume! Oh noez!

Well... In my "defense", it's a pretty simple costume to come up with. All I need is a button up blue shirt, some khaki pants, and a belt. Have you figured out who I'm gonna be yet? I'll give you a hint...

Aww yeah baby! I've been told that I can do a pretty solid impersonation of him so my entire oufit will rely solely on my voice. I can do the hand gestures and such too! This should be amazing! God I miss him...

In more Javier-related news... I recently drank 20 half liter bottles of water in about a 5 day span. I uhh... I don't know if that's weird or not. It's not like I marathoned these or like I didn't drink anything else. The fact is that I took my time drinking these and I actually drank many other drinks (cups of milk, water, and juice). I'm sure drinking this much water is normal... right? What I'm most concerned about, however, is all the money I'm spending on these packs of water... Oh well.

On the next blog, I'll be talking about upcoming Nintendo games! The ones I'm gonna try and get. Alright then... As always...

My Friend is Back!

He's got a blog, ya'll. Go check it out. He made that blog a while ago and wanted to keep up with it. Well he didn't really do that the first time around. Now he started all over (even deleting his previous posts) and has declared a brand new start. He claims to update it every day (don't know if that means weekends too). Just keep an eye on it! It'll be something to watch out for!

I'm very afraid.

Announcing the return of...

LINK
These pictures! Yay! I know I know. You probably don't believe me. First of all I posted up a picture that is over 2 years old. Secondly, I've been telling you all that I've been wanting to do this for a while and haven't really done anything about it.
Well... I feel better about this project this semester. I really like this idea and I have this tiny little sketchbook that I carry around with me all the time that will help me do more drawings!
If you don't know what "project" I'm talking about, here's a summary from a different picture I have on DeviantArt:

"Okay so I am planning on starting my own fan-art/ fiction style thing with Pokémon! I plan on having six groups of threes travel through the Pokémon World! Since there are only four known regions, I plan on having one group per region and two regions have two groups. I am going to have all of these people meet up and it'll be like hey meet in the first time so all these interactions will be new as if we only existed in the Pokémon World!"

The groups I had in mind on that page will definitely be changed. I'm still working on those details. I might be able to crank out one new drawing this week. Hopefully. Maybe on Saturday.

Sorry I can't give you a preview right now. You'll just have to take my word on it. :)

BAM!

So... I'm back. Back to the blog. I'm not sure why I didn't post this summer. It feels like I'm a fall season show coming back from a summer drought. Haha.

I don't really have anything new to report on here. I'm back here in California with my awesome truck. Been driving around the city getting used to the scenery. I think the city of Burbank is pretty easy to navigate around. All of Los Angeles and it's freeways are a completely different story. I need to study up on these freeways.

As for my promise for not buying comics this summer, I kinda kept true to it. I didn't buy too many. Maybe just 4 this whole summer. I waited until I got back here. That was fun.

That's all that comes to mind tonight. Tomorrow's post should be a little more fun than this one. I just hope you guys understand it. It's something that's been in the back of my head for a little while and I just watched this one movie that made me want to pursue the thought further. Anyway... Here's another absolutely amazing comic from the guys at Buttersafe.

Here's the link: The Heroic Dog

Carlos Blanco

I figured you'd read this if it had such an amazing name on here. Oh, and when I say "you" I mean everyone.
Tomorrow Carlos Blanco and I will be going to a Gamestop where he will be jumping into a whole new world... GAMING. Not just any gaming, though... HANDHELD GAMING.

Now this is actually a bold move... When you enter the world of handheld gaming... You've got to also consider that you are also entering the world while gaming. Let me elaborate.
Carlos posted on his Facebook that he plans on playing his new DSi (one of the best choices for handheld gaming right now) on the subway and inbetween classes. Both of these places are out in the world. He is going to bring expose this hobby to the world and let everyone get a glimpse of what kind of person he is. When a person is dressed a certain way, you can come to some sort of conclusion of what kind of person they are. Same thing goes for when they have their hair arranged in a certain way, or who they hang around with. Now when a person pulls out a gaming system, we automatically put a label on them too. This is what Carlos is going to do. This is why I call this a bold move. Exposing yourself to the world as a gamer is pretty awesome... I'm gald he's doing it.

So... Now that we all know that he is getting a Nintendo DSi, I bet you're all wondering what games he'll be getting. Well he told me, EXCLUSIVELY, which games he's eye-balling. Here they are:

  • Mario Kart DS
  • New Super Mario Bros.
  • The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass
  • Sonic Rush
  • Speed Racer
  • Ultimate Mortal Kombat
There you have it! I actually have 2 of these games and maybe Car and I will be playing some of these games together tomorrow! Woot!

Well... That about wraps it up for tonight. I'll tell you all what happens tomorrow night! Until then...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I can't believe I forgot to post last night. I was really looking forward to getting back on here and I totally forgot to get on here. Oh well. To make up for it I am making this post.

Being back in Houston over the summer has been a blast. I really enjoy being back here with all my friends and family. I love getting to see everyone here and I couldn't be happier.

So far, my "accomplishments" include:

-Getting an awesome blue truck
-Getting my license

Yup. That's about it. I haven't been able to get a job because nobody is hiring. It pisses me off so much. I feel like people are only looking for long time employment. It's not like I'm telling them directly that I'll only be here for a short time. I think they just look at my age and assume that I won't be able to stay there that long. That makes me feel like there's nothing I can do to get a job this summer. I still want to keep trying it's just that I don't know what to do anymore.

Okay then. I'll update tonight too. I promise! Keep an eye out for it!

I went on a field trip today! Also... A nice preview of what's to come!

First of all I want to apologize to all you who were expecting a blog from me last week... I got overwhelmed with school work so I couldn't really update my stuff here. I have been working on my final.

Anyway... I went on a field trip today! Yup! You read that right! I took a tour with several other animation students at Matchframe. It was pretty cool. It's pretty much an editing studio They basically only work on Post-Production stuff. That's all the final touches and editing that goes into media before it gets sent out. Not what I want to get into at all but still... It was very interesting to see how much work is actually put into things most people take for granted.

Next I want to give you all a "preview" of my next project. I have been working on this thing for a while now and there is actually a lot more work that needs to be done to it. The "preview" I'm gonna be showing you is of a frame but I blurred it up so that you can't really tell what's going on. Take a look!

The light bulbs here are very yellow, aren't they? Anywho, I promise this little project, AKA "My Final", is gonna look pretty tight. It's due Wednesday night so I'm pretty sure you guys will get to see it all either by the end of that night or Thursday night. Stay tuned for that!

20 years ago... The Nintendo Gameboy was released

That's right. 20 years ago on April 21, the Nintendo Gameboy was released in Japan. It was later released in North America in August... What a wonderful gaming system. It was just so awesome! I wish I still had mine... I had a solid black one. That obviously means I didn't get one right away. I waited for a while. I remember when I had it, though I thought, "Wow... A video game.. In my hands! I mean it's RIGHT HERE!" My first game was Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. It was GREAT! I must have been in 2nd or 3rd grade... I remember I soon got Pokémon Blue for it. That then helped fuel my Pokémon obsession. Nintendo sure does know what they are doing when it comes to their handheld systems. I can't believe the Gameboy is 20 years old today! That's how old I'm gonna be in a couple of months! Wow! 2 decades... It's all just so amazing...

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - "It's Blitz"
Released March 9, 2009 on Interscope Records

Alas... The dreaded 3rd studio album! Artist and bands that reach this place usually get there because they deserved it. Their first album was such a hit they rolled the dice and got money to get a second album. The second album is a rare success but if they make it, they can get to the scary 3rd album! Yeah Yeah Yeahs definitely deserved getting a third album.
Their first album was so gritty and "garage-y" it really caught everyone's ears and contributed to the "Rock Revival" of the 2000's.
Their second album played around with a more emotional sound. They reached a more sensitive side to their music.
On their third album, Yeah Yeah Yeahs play around a LOT more with a synthesizer, something that their kind of music doesn't really do. I was shocked when I heard so much keyboard all over this album. I'm not gonna say I don't like it. I'm also not gonna say I love it. It's sorta just... There... I'm sorry to say but I get the feeling that they are almost trying to fit the trend of current rock era... I mean even Kings of Leon abused the synth in their latest album... I was so disappointed...
Anyway, this album was pretty good. A nice range of types of songs and nice vocals from Karen. The band still sounds pretty tight after 2 albums. I did really like this new album because, even though they sound like they are copying other people, I did like that they were experimenting. I like this album but I don't recommend it to be your first Yeah Yeah Yeahs experience. Check out their first album before this one. That's just what I think though.

Here's a sample of one their songs:
"Heads Will Roll -(Live on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon)"

Yeah Yeah Yeahs' - "It's Blitz" - 4 Tips of my Cap out of 5

Geometry Wars: Galaxies

Publisher: Sierra

It's fantastic! It's a retro style shooter with amazing graphics and outrageous amounts of replay value! I play it every now and then with my roommate and we never get bored from it! We usually stop playing because we got other stuff to do! I recommend this game like CRAZY! It's amazing!

Woot! It's Wednesday!

I woke up the next morning with great intentions! I had much hope in my eyes. I got my DSi and immediately started messing with the cameras on it. Yes. There are TWO cameras on the DSi. One on the inside, to take pictures of yourself, and one on the outside, to take pictures of your friends! I know... AWESOME! I'm gonna toss a bunch of pictures on here that I have been taking with these cameras. There's all these different specs on the DSi that I can't really tell you all about because... Well... I just don't know all that much about hardware stuff and all that jazz so here's a link that can tell you more about it all:

DSi Specs

And now... Here's some pictures!!

Yes yes, I know. Very creepy. I just want to show you guys what you can do with this camera. I want the word to get out there! I am very happy that I got this and I don't regret it one bit! :)

That's all for tonight. Thanks for reading!

Tuesday, April 7, 2009

Woot! It's Tuesday!

I don't really know why that would be reason to celebrate, but hey! Who needs a reason? In tonight's blog I will be talking about my brand new DSi!

I went to the midnight launch event for this because it just so happened that the Gamestop where I reserved my DSi was having one and I didn't want to miss out. I got my DSi about 10 minutes after midnight on Sunday, April 5th. It was pretty exciting. I couldn't wait to get back to my room and play with it and it's cameras and voice recorder and music playback capabilities. Unfortunately, I walked to the Gamestop with my roommate, who's totally awesome by the way, and it takes us about 40 minutes to get to either destination. I like to walk so why not just walk there? Wasn't too bad. I'm actually glad we walked though. It's good for you!
Anyway we get back and all I can do is open up the box and marvel at it. Sure I tried out a few pics but that was pretty much it. We were tired as hell. So we went to sleep at about 1:15 or so. I'd have to mess around with my new DSi the next day... :(

END PART ONE!!!

So I Didn't Post Yestreday Because...

It was April Fool's Day! I didn't want any non-believers up in here so I decided to skip the post altogether.

Okay... So BECAUSE it was April Fool's Day, I was gotten.

The first one I got was baaaad. My mom knows I care about my little brother very much so anything that happens to him affects me very badly. Yesterday she texted me saying that he was failing second grade. I was VERY troubled so I immediately called my mom to see if anything was going to be done about it. Turns out it was a prank. My face was SOO red it was unbelievable. I actually fell for it. The only reason I fell for it, however was because it involved my little brother. I still think it was a rotten trick from my mom! >=|

Then later on at night I get a phone call from Kate. I thought it was about something she had told me over Facebook. I, however, didn't answer because a new South Park was on (sorry... It was great, by the way). Anyway after the show ended, I called her back and she didn't answer. I thought she was sleeping so I let it go. A few minutes later I get a call from her. I answer it only to get Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" on the other line. I had been Rick Roll'd by telephone... I know... I can't believe it either! I was like... WOW!

So yeah... Those two are the only "pranks" that got me yesterday. To sign out tonight I want to show you a HILARIOUS webcomic that I have been reading for QUITE some time now. Andrew Hussie is unbelievably hilarious in all his works. He has a bunch of webcomics you can check out here: The Projects of Andrew Hussie. All that stuff is old but I still look back at it and laugh and laugh. It's great stuff. Right now he has this other website he updates with webcomics. You can click here for that one: MS Paint Adventures. He just finished up a series there called Problem Sleuth. It's too late to see what happened with that one but he's about to start up a whole new story on the tenth! I can't wait! (You have to have a wild sense of humor and imagination to really get what Hussie is saying.) Anywho, I thought I'd share with you a comic he did a while back. It's froma series titled "A Steep Price For Pie"

Hilarious, no? God, I love it.

Anyway that's all for me tonight!

Thanks for reading! PEACE!!!

Sorry About Not Posting Yesterday...

I was just so damn depressed...
I'm not gonna have a job when I get out of college. I just know it.

Here are the links that explain why:

Chowder might be done for.

Cartoon Network's schedule for 2009.

An article that scares me into tears.

Just read those and you'll see why I'm so scared. You'll see why I just want to give up. Goodness. I just don't know anymore.

So I've decided....

I'm not going to pick up any comics over the summer. I like my shop here in California so much I just can't pass up that 20% discount for 3 months! Also this means that I will just have a lot more to read when I get back here! I love to read so I can't really complain. I'll also be saving money and who doesn't want that? Plus getting a break from it won't be so bad! Sorry Marvel... I'll be back in August!

That's all!

Nintendo News... and more...

Well the conference was today. For all of the updates that happened as they happened, check out this link. <-RIGHT THERE! Over all I thought it was pretty awesome. No big games that I would go gaga for but at least a new Zelda game was announced. I'm always happy when those come out because that means Nintendo still knows what they are doing. If you didn't understand some parts of what was in that link, feel free to ask me on here or wherever! I'll answer to the best of my abilities.

Now for the more... June Solicits! Yay! Marvel unveiled their solicits for June yesterday and I gotta admit... They look good! What I'm most looking forward to is Captain America # 600 and the upcoming Fallen Son story arc in Amazing Spider-Man.

I really hope the upcoming Captain America will be as epic as Thor # 600. I mean I was BLOWN away with that issue of Thor! It was amazing!

With Norman running the entire show, I'm happy to finally see what Spider-Man's reaction will be. I'm pretty sure it will be very epic. Let's keep masks on this time though, people!

Well that's it tonight!
Thanks for reading! PEACE!!!

Nintendo is King.

Always has been and always will be! Don't believe me? Just check out this link here.

You just can't mess with them! <-CLICK HERE.

And don't forget to read the link inside this link to the actual news story. I'm gonna be posting my Nintendo news mostly from GoNintendo but they get their news from other sites so don't forget to check out the actual news and not just what this site says. Consider GoNintendo a blog from which I get my news.

That's all I want to say tonight... This REALLY caught my attention today and I hope it'll amaze you as much as it amazed me!! Tomorrow, Nintendo's President, Satoru Iwata, will be giving a speech over at the Game Developer's Conference tomorrow and most of us Nintendo Fan-boys are pretty excited about what he is gonna say. Nintendo is pretty notable for their ability of keeping things secret until they are ready to announce something. This means nobody really knows what Satoru Iwata is gonna say tomorrow! It'll be a surprise to everyone! (Except, of course, to those that work at Nintendo.) Get ready for some more Nintendo news tomorrow!!

Thanks for reading! PEACE!!!

I got Pokémon Platinum! YAY! The latest version of Pokémon is out and I snatched it up as SOON as it hit the streets! I must say... Even though it's pretty much the same as most of the other installations, it's definitely the best one so far. The battle dynamic is a lot smoother, the diversity of which Pokémon you can catch and use is very nice, and the replay ability is definitely there in full force!

Platinum's story basically plays out just like Diamond and Pearl's story with just a few tweaks. The most appealing new feature in this version is the addition is the battle frontier. This is a place where trainers can really step up and test their true strength and abilities. I REALLY want to try my best and become a strong trainer instead of just a collector. Hopefully I'll conquer the Battle Frontier in here!

That's pretty much all I have to say tonight because I want to get back to playing my game!

Thursday. New Office.

It was pretty hilarious. I was laughing through-out it. The guys down at The Office do a great job on every episode they pull out. Also, there was a surprise ending that may change the whole course of the show! It is, obviously, also one of my favorite shows of all time.

There it is again... "One of my favorite shows." I always seem to say that. I got to thinking... What really ARE my favorite shows? How would I be able to tell that is my favorite show? What makes them so special? What can signify that they are in fact my favorite show?

Then I got it. A show is truly my favorite show if I would actually buy it's season's DVDs. That's when I did a mind journey... What shows do I LOVE enough to buy their DVDs too? Here's what I came up with:

  • The Office - It absolutely SLAYS me! There hasn't been an episode I hadn't laughed at. The casting on it is simply magic. I think that's one of it's strongest points.
  • Scrubs - It's found a special place in my heart. I simply cannot get enough of J.D., Turk, Carla, Cox, Kelso, Janitor and Elliot. It makes me VERY depressed that they are on their last season.
  • South Park - It's simple animation is more than enough to convey a compelling story and keep the comedy coming at full force. Definitely an American classic.
  • Futurama - The awkward sibling of the Simpsons that Matt Groening dropped out into the world proved itself to be just as, if not more, hilarious as it's older brother always supplies me the laughs. It's my sense of humor and really enjoy it every time it's on.
  • Pokémon - What can I say about this show? It's been there for me for 10 years. I can always count on it being there for me when life was too much for me. Yes. Even 10 years ago I had the mind of an old man and needed to escape this real world by watching a bunch of kinds capturing creatures and have them battle each other. LEAVE ME ALONE!
  • Looney Tunes - THE REASON I GOT INTO ANIMATION. 'NUFF SAID.
Well there you have it. These are truly my favorite programs on television that I love SO much, I would get all their seasons on DVD. AGH! Now I want to go on eBay and snatch them all up! Sigh... One can dream though... One can dream... So far I only have the first season of Futurama, all the seasons of Scrubs, and the second season of The Office. Gotta keep an eye out for the rest!

Once again... Thanks for reading! PEACE!!!

Wednesday. That Can Only Mean One Thing!!

A Brand New Scrubs and a Brand New South Park!

I'm in heaven! First off I'll talk about the Scrubs Episode.

It's titled "My Nah Nah Nah". The episodes name comes from the opening sound effect from the intro to Sports Center. It starts with J.D. and Turk watching an episode and it eventually helps with a problem Turk is having later on with a patient. I don't want to give away ALL of the episode but I will say it was awesome. It was the kind of episode that reminds me why I love Scrubs. It combines drama and comedy in such a fantastic way it boggles me that it has never won an Emmy or anything! This show deserves that AND MORE! Goodness I love Scrubs.

Later on in the night, a new South Park came on titled "The Coon". Fear not though. It's not the bad way that word is used. Coon is simply Cartman's super hero name. That should be enough info for you to figure out that this episode is AWESOME! It's all basically a parody on "The Dark Knight". The boys at South Park did a GREAT job of parodying the movie in a hilarious way. South Park is also one of my favorite shows of all time!!

So in general, I did nothing today but watch new episodes of my two of my favorite shows.

P.S. Image is from here.

I Went Out Today

I did. I went to the mall. Walking. Man, I gotta get a car. I can't wait for it. It's gonna be awesome! Anyway, I didn't really do much there. I just wanted to get the hell out of the room. It was fun to leave though! I went to a Target, a Best Buy, and a Gamestop. I didn't buy anything from Target or Best Buy. I DID get 2 games from Gamestop though. I got my little brother "Lego Batman". I keep hearing great things from this franchise so I'm glad I got this for him. For me... I got "Drawn to Life"! This is a game where YOU get to decide what your hero looks like! Yes!! YOU get to draw what character you play as!!! Oh man I can't wait!!! I have SOOO many ideas for who I will be playing as! No!!! Not Mario! I'm thinking of all the characters I've made over the years! It's gonna be awesome! Here's a video on it.

AWESOME RIGHT?!?!

Monday! That means I'm back!

Okay, so in case you didn't notice, I will NOT be regularly posting on the weekends. Why? I don't know... Just to have a break from the week I guess.

Over the weekend I didn't do much of anything. I started playing The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess again after a couple of months not touching it. I told myself that I was going to beat this game by the end of the week but I am only at like the 4th dungeon or something like that... I don't really know how to tell the progress with this game... I just got the Zora armor and am now looking for the next Fused Shadow. I think that's pretty early so I'm not sure I will be able to do what I want to by the end of the week.

This week is my spring break and I didn't go home! Ticket prices are very weird... It would have actually cost less to go to New York rather than Houston! WTF is that?!? Oh well... I'll just stay here for a week trying to beat some video games. I also have some homework to do so I'll guess it'll be good to stay here. Also I need to chillax. Been a long couple of days.

Well yeah. That's today's entry! Boring as boring can be! Thanks for reading! PEACE!!!

Ummm... I'll go ahead and make up for last night with this...

A Quadruple Post!!!

You read it right! Tonight I will be featuring:

  • An explanation to you why I didn't post anything last night and I'll give you some cool proof!
  • An album review!! YAY!
  • Another awesome comic strip from the guys at Buttersafe!
  • Some news from Marvel!

Okay so the reason I didn't post yesterday was because I had to go in to the studio here at school to work on a new project for my Animation Principles class. The assignment was to make our character's head rotate 360 degrees, 3 times, and then make then show an expression. It was basically an assignment that made us learn more about 3-Dimensional space in 2-Dimensional animation along with working on character's expressions. Well you all knew this was coming so here goes my new animation! It came out great! My teacher really liked it! Anyway, here it is!

And now for an album review....

The Avalanches - "Since I Left You"
Released November 27, 2000 on Modular Recordings

My first review will be of The Avalanches' "Since I Left You". I think this album was VERY well put together. It features TONS of sound bites from all recorded times of media. Anything that has been recorded for anything might have been included in this album. These guys actually put all these songs together in a very wise way. It all sounds like it belongs. I really give them praise for having the feeling of how these sound bits could fit together. One thing I REALLY like about this album was that there isn't really a single song. Every track on here continues into the next one. So it's all basically one big track. I think some of you guys out there wouldn't like this because it never really gives you break from song to transition to song. There aren't really any breaks in between these songs to make them stand out from each other. Actually, I currently have them on my iPod and am listening to all my songs on there in a random order. Every time one of their songs comes on, I have no idea what I am listening to. A song would sound like it starts from, basically, a random point but actually that's how that track starts. This would be the one major flaw I can pick out in this album. These songs don't really have the ability to breathe and have life of their own. They all work together to make the entire album sound like a super track. Now I also think this is what is great about this. Because the album is all strung together like this, I feel that it can take you away to where The Avalanches want to take you: A funky fresh place where music plays with your senses and just makes you want to dance. Overall , this album is GREAT. That's just what I think though. Now, I haven't really thought about how I'm goint to be ranking these reviews... Stars? Numbers? Hmmm.... OH! I know!

Here's a sample of one of their songs:
"Frontier Psychiatrist"

The Avalanches' - "Since I Left You" - 5 Tips of my Cap out of 5 (Sure it's corny and cheesy but it'll catch on.)

Looks like it's time for another hilarious comic stip from Buttersafe!

The final post of this massive entry will be a bit of Marvel News. Looks like some movies have been pushed back. It's not horrible news but it is a little disheartening... I wanted to watch these movies sooner! Oh well... I guess I can wait... I mean if these movies will be anything like Iron Man then at least I know I will be waiting for something fantastic!

Well then... Thanks for reading this LOOOOOOOOOOONG post. It was a bunch to read and I'm glad you guys made it all the way through. Once again...
Thanks for reading!

Just a Video of What I Did Last Semester

Here's a video that everyone in my class really liked! All we had to do was use all the information we learned through-out the semester and put it to work. I used Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, and Aftereffects to make this movie. The characters in it are my own that I have created and developed over the last 5 years. The music is all from a game called "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" by Nintendo... Gotta give them their props! The video is supposed to be of a team of kids that control elemental super powers going to fight a super evil bad guy. Oh and also, it was only to be one minute long. Any questions, just ask me. Well then... Here you go!

(sorry about how crappy it looks... had to reduce it's quality so that Blogger could upload it. :( )

And once again... Thanks for reading! PEACE!!!!

Yeah Soooo....

We had to evacuate my dorm building today...
It just turned 7 p.m. and I hear this massive knock on my door. "Hello? Mario? Everyone! We gotta get out we're evacuating the building!"
O_O
I immediately got my wallet, keys, and phone and got out of my room. We were all instructed to go to the cafeteria. At this point, my roommate and I had NO idea what was going on... We just went along with what was said... I'm not gonna lie... I was concerned... about all my stuff in the room! What if something happened to it all?!

Anyway, all of the South Hall residents were in the cafeteria just waiting... And waiting... And waiting... What were we waiting for? An answer... Why were we forced to evacuate? Well... It took them an hour to tell us what was going on... I think we could have heard about it sooner... Maybe right when we got to the cafeteria?!

Well what happened was there was a suspicious package left behind our building. The school didn't want to take any chances so they called the bomb squad, the police, and ordered us to evacuate. I don't know in what order but that's what happened. We were notified of this at 8 p.m. We were also told that we couldn't leave until the bomb squad finished their business. That would take an hour more.

So we waited.

And waited.

And waited.

Finally it was 9 and as promised... We got to leave! The administration actually stayed true to their word! I think that was awesome! But really... I lost TWO hours of my life for some package that turned out to be nothing at all! Oh well... I would rather have lost those 2 hours as opposed to exploding....

So yeah that was my night... Earlier today I had Intro to Psych and Figure Drawing. Both were pretty tight. In Psych we learned more about motivations and why we do certain things. In figure drawing we experimented with charcoal. I did pretty well if you ask me! :D.

Well that's all folks! Thanks for reading! PEACE!!!

Funny Stuff

So about 2 weeks ago I had my first character animation pencil test here at Woodbury. I had to first create a character and then develop it into something I can animate. Well I chose a clown because that's how I roll. After getting approval, I had to then animate my character walking. I did with, I have to say, great results! I converted it into a video for you all to see so... HERE YA GO! Mind you it IS short because it is only one walk cycle...

Next up I want to show you guys a hilarious comic strip from http://www.buttersafe.com/
I think these guys produce pure gems and this is only one of them:

It's Time to Begin

Here we go... My name is Javier and I have decided to go ahead and start up my own blog!

I have been thinking about doing this for some time... I just never really had the will to actually start it up. I don't really know what finally convinced me to start... Maybe it was Kate... Maybe I finally snapped... Either way I thought it was time to make a blog.

On this blog I will have:
News from around the web that grabs my attention the most (consider this a warning... It will most likely be Nintendo and Marvel news)
Album/ Song/ Band reviews
Comic/ Artist/ Author reviews
And of course, blog entries from yours truly. I will try and not rant too much but, eh, you know how it is out there right now.

Being a freshman in college means I don't really get to communicate that much with my friends from high school. Even when I do talk to my friends, I can never really tell them exactly how things are here at Woodbury University. I figure that maybe this can help get the message across more. I still want to keep in touch with my friends and I only hope they want the same.

Thanks for reading and wish me luck!

THE SUPER MARIO HAS ARRIVED!
