Aww Dude. I Love Nintendo!

What an understatement. Anyway... Today I wanted to write about the games that are coming out this "holiday" season for the Wii. I put holiday season because I plan on talking about games that were released and are going to be released from October to January.

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games

I actually think these Mario and Sonic titles (there's only two) are actually lots of fun. These games are meant to play with friends. That's the main reason I get these kinds of games in the first place. I like to play "party" games with my friends and I think this is a great addition to my other "party" titles.

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles

Ahh... A rails shooter. Not many people like these games. I, however, do. Even though you can't control your movements completely, I still think there is fun to be had in this kind of game. I have the first of this series (meaning this is a sequel) and I enjoy this kind of gameplay.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii

This is the latest title in the Super Mario Bros. franchise. It's another side scrolling adventure that plays just like the original Super Mario Bros. All you need are two buttons: One to jump and one to dash/ throw fireballs! Back to classics, baby! I simply cannot wait for this game to drop. I am almost drooling watching some of these videos online!

Pokémon Rumble

In this game, you actually control your Pokémon and battle other Pokémon in a way completely different than in the handheld games. Despite the graphics, this looks like a pretty fun game. I can't wait to get my hands on this title.

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars

A true 2-D fighter for the Wii! This is all I have for now. The Wii doesn't have Street Fighter 4 or Marvel vs. Capcom, unfortunately. This is a welcome addition to the versus titles though. Seeing as how this is only a Wii exculsive, I am very excited in what Capcom has done with this game. It looks absolutely fantastic and I think Capcom knows exactly what they are doing.

Alright then folks, like always...
Thanks for reading/watching! PEACE!!!

Carlos Blanco

I figured you'd read this if it had such an amazing name on here. Oh, and when I say "you" I mean everyone.
Tomorrow Carlos Blanco and I will be going to a Gamestop where he will be jumping into a whole new world... GAMING. Not just any gaming, though... HANDHELD GAMING.

Now this is actually a bold move... When you enter the world of handheld gaming... You've got to also consider that you are also entering the world while gaming. Let me elaborate.
Carlos posted on his Facebook that he plans on playing his new DSi (one of the best choices for handheld gaming right now) on the subway and inbetween classes. Both of these places are out in the world. He is going to bring expose this hobby to the world and let everyone get a glimpse of what kind of person he is. When a person is dressed a certain way, you can come to some sort of conclusion of what kind of person they are. Same thing goes for when they have their hair arranged in a certain way, or who they hang around with. Now when a person pulls out a gaming system, we automatically put a label on them too. This is what Carlos is going to do. This is why I call this a bold move. Exposing yourself to the world as a gamer is pretty awesome... I'm gald he's doing it.

So... Now that we all know that he is getting a Nintendo DSi, I bet you're all wondering what games he'll be getting. Well he told me, EXCLUSIVELY, which games he's eye-balling. Here they are:

  • Mario Kart DS
  • New Super Mario Bros.
  • The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass
  • Sonic Rush
  • Speed Racer
  • Ultimate Mortal Kombat
There you have it! I actually have 2 of these games and maybe Car and I will be playing some of these games together tomorrow! Woot!

Well... That about wraps it up for tonight. I'll tell you all what happens tomorrow night! Until then...

20 years ago... The Nintendo Gameboy was released

That's right. 20 years ago on April 21, the Nintendo Gameboy was released in Japan. It was later released in North America in August... What a wonderful gaming system. It was just so awesome! I wish I still had mine... I had a solid black one. That obviously means I didn't get one right away. I waited for a while. I remember when I had it, though I thought, "Wow... A video game.. In my hands! I mean it's RIGHT HERE!" My first game was Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. It was GREAT! I must have been in 2nd or 3rd grade... I remember I soon got Pokémon Blue for it. That then helped fuel my Pokémon obsession. Nintendo sure does know what they are doing when it comes to their handheld systems. I can't believe the Gameboy is 20 years old today! That's how old I'm gonna be in a couple of months! Wow! 2 decades... It's all just so amazing...

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - "It's Blitz"
Released March 9, 2009 on Interscope Records

Alas... The dreaded 3rd studio album! Artist and bands that reach this place usually get there because they deserved it. Their first album was such a hit they rolled the dice and got money to get a second album. The second album is a rare success but if they make it, they can get to the scary 3rd album! Yeah Yeah Yeahs definitely deserved getting a third album.
Their first album was so gritty and "garage-y" it really caught everyone's ears and contributed to the "Rock Revival" of the 2000's.
Their second album played around with a more emotional sound. They reached a more sensitive side to their music.
On their third album, Yeah Yeah Yeahs play around a LOT more with a synthesizer, something that their kind of music doesn't really do. I was shocked when I heard so much keyboard all over this album. I'm not gonna say I don't like it. I'm also not gonna say I love it. It's sorta just... There... I'm sorry to say but I get the feeling that they are almost trying to fit the trend of current rock era... I mean even Kings of Leon abused the synth in their latest album... I was so disappointed...
Anyway, this album was pretty good. A nice range of types of songs and nice vocals from Karen. The band still sounds pretty tight after 2 albums. I did really like this new album because, even though they sound like they are copying other people, I did like that they were experimenting. I like this album but I don't recommend it to be your first Yeah Yeah Yeahs experience. Check out their first album before this one. That's just what I think though.

Here's a sample of one their songs:
"Heads Will Roll -(Live on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon)"

Yeah Yeah Yeahs' - "It's Blitz" - 4 Tips of my Cap out of 5

Geometry Wars: Galaxies

Publisher: Sierra

It's fantastic! It's a retro style shooter with amazing graphics and outrageous amounts of replay value! I play it every now and then with my roommate and we never get bored from it! We usually stop playing because we got other stuff to do! I recommend this game like CRAZY! It's amazing!

Woot! It's Wednesday!

I woke up the next morning with great intentions! I had much hope in my eyes. I got my DSi and immediately started messing with the cameras on it. Yes. There are TWO cameras on the DSi. One on the inside, to take pictures of yourself, and one on the outside, to take pictures of your friends! I know... AWESOME! I'm gonna toss a bunch of pictures on here that I have been taking with these cameras. There's all these different specs on the DSi that I can't really tell you all about because... Well... I just don't know all that much about hardware stuff and all that jazz so here's a link that can tell you more about it all:

DSi Specs

And now... Here's some pictures!!

Yes yes, I know. Very creepy. I just want to show you guys what you can do with this camera. I want the word to get out there! I am very happy that I got this and I don't regret it one bit! :)

That's all for tonight. Thanks for reading!

Woot! It's Tuesday!

I don't really know why that would be reason to celebrate, but hey! Who needs a reason? In tonight's blog I will be talking about my brand new DSi!

I went to the midnight launch event for this because it just so happened that the Gamestop where I reserved my DSi was having one and I didn't want to miss out. I got my DSi about 10 minutes after midnight on Sunday, April 5th. It was pretty exciting. I couldn't wait to get back to my room and play with it and it's cameras and voice recorder and music playback capabilities. Unfortunately, I walked to the Gamestop with my roommate, who's totally awesome by the way, and it takes us about 40 minutes to get to either destination. I like to walk so why not just walk there? Wasn't too bad. I'm actually glad we walked though. It's good for you!
Anyway we get back and all I can do is open up the box and marvel at it. Sure I tried out a few pics but that was pretty much it. We were tired as hell. So we went to sleep at about 1:15 or so. I'd have to mess around with my new DSi the next day... :(

END PART ONE!!!

Thanks for reading! PEACE!!!

Nintendo News... and more...

Well the conference was today. For all of the updates that happened as they happened, check out this link. <-RIGHT THERE! Over all I thought it was pretty awesome. No big games that I would go gaga for but at least a new Zelda game was announced. I'm always happy when those come out because that means Nintendo still knows what they are doing. If you didn't understand some parts of what was in that link, feel free to ask me on here or wherever! I'll answer to the best of my abilities.

Now for the more... June Solicits! Yay! Marvel unveiled their solicits for June yesterday and I gotta admit... They look good! What I'm most looking forward to is Captain America # 600 and the upcoming Fallen Son story arc in Amazing Spider-Man.

I really hope the upcoming Captain America will be as epic as Thor # 600. I mean I was BLOWN away with that issue of Thor! It was amazing!

With Norman running the entire show, I'm happy to finally see what Spider-Man's reaction will be. I'm pretty sure it will be very epic. Let's keep masks on this time though, people!

Well that's it tonight!

Nintendo is King.

Always has been and always will be! Don't believe me? Just check out this link here.

You just can't mess with them! <-CLICK HERE.

And don't forget to read the link inside this link to the actual news story. I'm gonna be posting my Nintendo news mostly from GoNintendo but they get their news from other sites so don't forget to check out the actual news and not just what this site says. Consider GoNintendo a blog from which I get my news.

That's all I want to say tonight... This REALLY caught my attention today and I hope it'll amaze you as much as it amazed me!! Tomorrow, Nintendo's President, Satoru Iwata, will be giving a speech over at the Game Developer's Conference tomorrow and most of us Nintendo Fan-boys are pretty excited about what he is gonna say. Nintendo is pretty notable for their ability of keeping things secret until they are ready to announce something. This means nobody really knows what Satoru Iwata is gonna say tomorrow! It'll be a surprise to everyone! (Except, of course, to those that work at Nintendo.) Get ready for some more Nintendo news tomorrow!!

Thanks for reading! PEACE!!!

Platinum!

I got Pokémon Platinum! YAY! The latest version of Pokémon is out and I snatched it up as SOON as it hit the streets! I must say... Even though it's pretty much the same as most of the other installations, it's definitely the best one so far. The battle dynamic is a lot smoother, the diversity of which Pokémon you can catch and use is very nice, and the replay ability is definitely there in full force!

Platinum's story basically plays out just like Diamond and Pearl's story with just a few tweaks. The most appealing new feature in this version is the addition is the battle frontier. This is a place where trainers can really step up and test their true strength and abilities. I REALLY want to try my best and become a strong trainer instead of just a collector. Hopefully I'll conquer the Battle Frontier in here!

That's pretty much all I have to say tonight because I want to get back to playing my game!
Thanks for reading! PEACE!!!
